Autumn Holiday at the Amager Museum

The autumn break is harvest and preserving time at the historic museum farms of the Amager Museum in Store Magleby. Here, visitors are invited on a journey back in time to life in the “Dutch Village” at the end of the 19th century.

Every day, guests can take part in hands-on activities such as pressing apples into juice, playing traditional games, joining a vegetable quiz, watching the museum’s chicken being prepared, and tasting homemade chicken soup. Nothing goes to waste as the farm prepares for the cold winter season.

In addition to the daily activities, there are special events on selected days:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: Rides on the old fire engine

  • Friday and Saturday: The Mobile Flax Workshop sets up at the museum and demonstrates the traditional craft of processing flax into materials used for clothing and more

  • Friday and Saturday: The Lace-Making Group showcases their delicate handiwork

The museum is open every day during week 42 (October school holiday) from 12:00 to 16:00.
